Why Das Erbe?
The first automobile, the one that started it all, was invented in Germany. “Das Erbe” means “The Heritage” in German. This collective and our publication honors all things automotive and we felt it was only right to give a nod to the birthplace of the automobile.
Why 1885?
Karl Benz—you know, half of Mercedes-Benz—completed the Benz Patent-Motorwagen in 1885. Considering this worlds first automobile, it’s a very important year for the heritage of the automotive culture. If you curious, you can read more about Karl and the year 1885 - Click here.
Who are we?
We’re a collective of creative professionals—photographers, videographers, writers, builders, creators, event organizers—who love cars, trucks, motorcycles...anything with an engine and wheels. All makes, all models, all styles: all are welcome! Above all else, we love the automotive community and how it brings us all together. Cars are culture, a culture that fosters community, collaboration, and creativity.
